Businesses hot sellers in San Antonio
San Antonio businesses for sell on a leading Internet sales site have a price tag typically of nearly $300,000, which is stronger than the $250,000 average asking price for businesses across the country.
That's the word from BizBuySell.com, which describes itself as the largest business-for-sale marketplace on the Internet. It said the median asking price for the 157 San Antonio area businesses it lists is $299,000.
The businesses averaged about $470,000 in revenue and produced average returns of more than $99,000, officials said.
Mike Handelsman, the site's general manage, said a growing number of businesses are being listed from the area. As Baby Boomers with businesses move closer to retirement age, the number could grow faster, which may bring down prices, Handelsman said.
