This 45+ year old company is in the process of growing a very exciting and lucrative revenue stream, the Forensic Analysis and Litigation support services. These forensic specialty requests started out as an occasional source of revenue and have grown into the largest facet of their business. Not only has it become the largest portion of the company’s revenue, but it is now the most profitable portion of their business as well. The firm is now conducting a search for a structural engineer with the skill set and certifications needed to continue the growth and development of the forensic/litigation support side of the business.
When the founders of this forensic service and architectural/engineering firm met at a
college freshman orientation, little did they know that together they would launch a business that would span over 4 decades and remain successful and financially profitable through the ups and downs of many different economic cycles. The firm opened its doors in 1980 and is still owned, managed, and operated by two of the original 5 founders. The firm is very unique in that it can provide the entire set of skills needed to be of value to any client requiring their services
Both owners are aware of their importance to the success of the new owner and the retention of existing clients. As a result, one owner is willing to stay on for up to two years and the second owner for up to one year, after the company’s sale and if needed, they are both willing to provide full-time services through either a consulting or employment agreement at a negotiated compensation rate.
The forensic analysis and litigation services customers come from private individuals, building owners/managers and law firms, just to name a few sources. The engineering and architectural customer base comes from a large number of sources. They attract clients from the general public, commercial developers, new home builders and remodeling service companies.
Occasionally they provide forensic analysis to clients seeking compensation for structural litigation surrounding architectural and engineering projects. Not only is it profitable, but there is little competition that can claim the same experience in this business segment. This firm was one of the early businesses taking part in this specialized and very profitable work.
