Financial Requirements

Applicants must have the financial ability to invest in a new business. Typical requirements are:

  • Liquidity Needed per Store: $70,000-$100,000.

Background

  • Cricket will conduct a civil and criminal background check on prospective owners and principals.

Exclusivity

  • Authorized Retailers sell Cricket rate plans and Cricket-sourced devices exclusively, as well as Cricket-branded and 3rd-party accessories.
  • Authorized Retailers cannot sell products or services from competitive carriers.

Growth

  • Cricket Authorized Retailer candidates should be interested in growing a multi-unit retail operation and be able to expand into areas meeting Cricket's distribution needs.

History

Cricket opened its first store in Chattanooga, TN in 1999. This store still operates today and is managed by some of the original employees. Cricket grew to be a brand of no-annual-contract firsts—the first to offer unlimited U.S. long distance, texts, music and picture messaging.
