Businesses Franchises Brokers

BizBuySell 2021 Broker Growth Summit - Questions & Answers

Do my listings go automatically to LoopNet and is there an extra fee for this?

Yes, the active listings from your BrokerWorks account will automatically appear in LoopNet's business for sale section. You do not need to take any additional step, and there is no additional fee. It is included in your BrokerWorks Network membership.

Will the location of my business be disclosed on LoopNet jeopardizing confidentiality?

No, the listing confidentiality of your listing on LoopNet is honored in the same way as it is on BizBuySell or any of our network distribution points. Your business listings will appear in a separate area on LoopNet and there is no map-based search there to pinpoint a business location. You can find these listings here: https://www.loopnet.com/biz/businesses-for-sale

What if the business includes real estate? Is there a way to sync the business with the real estate listing on LoopNet or are they separate?

The real estate listings on LoopNet are separate from the BizBuySell business listings that you will find under the Businesses for Sale section of LoopNet. If you really want to advertise the commercial real estate, advertising with LoopNet is the way to go. If you are primarily marketing a business for sale, BizBuySell is the right solution. You can of course do both if you want to reach both business buyers and property buyers.

Can I export my leads to a .CSV file?

Yes, from your lead management dashboard accessible from the "View My Leads" link, you can export your leads to .CSV format to manipulate as needed.

Can you expand your regions beyond county to larger regions?

We often hear that buyers want to search by a metro area or region, and that brokers want to expand confidentiality along these same dimensions. We are looking at metro area, region or radius search mechanisms that provide the needed amount of confidentiality and the desired purchase area for buyers.

What level of membership is required for broker association membership and certifications to appear on my broker profile?

All levels! Basic, Premium, and Elite members can all connect their BrokerWorks accounts to their broker associations through the Listing Distribution link under Networking Tools. Doing so will automatically populate the associated logos onto their broker profiles.

I am an agent of a broker who has a BrokerWorks account. What can I do?

Brokers may create agents within their BrokerWorks accounts and assign listings to those agents. Each agent receives their own agent account and login. Like brokers, agents can create a profile that will appear in the broker directory. Agents can also monitor their assigned listings' performance and pay to upgrade listings to receive more leads. Agents can also upgrade their accounts to Premium or Elite for a fee which also comes with one Showcase Plus Email upgrade credit per month. Agents can't edit listings, that is handled at the parent broker account level. Agents can set up the email and phone contacts for where they will receive their leads.

I have a listing that has a sale pending. Can I remove it temporarily from BizBuySell until is closes and then remove it permanently?

Only active business for sale listings are allowed on the BizBuySell network per our Terms of Use. If you have a listing that has sold, please delete the listing from your account. If you have a sale pending and don't want to delete the listing yet, you can remove its visibility from the website by unchecking the "Show on BrokerWorks Network" visibility check-box at the bottom of the edit listing page.

Where do I find the new listing performance report?

From the Manage My Listings page, click on the "Listing Actions" drop down for the desired listing and select "View Stats".

Protecting seller confidentiality is critical, yet I understand that if I don't disclose the city or county that many buyers search using those filters and my listing won't appear in those searches. Are there other tips for getting the added exposure while still protecting confidentiality?

Ultimately this is your call and the system will honor whatever level of location confidentiality you choose. As long as you understand the trade-off between location confidentiality and exposure, you can make those calls. One idea to consider is can you make the listing description and content sufficiently vague enough to not reveal the specific business while still enticing a buyer to want to get more information? This is the essence of what make a good "blind ad". It paints a picture of the opportunity without disclosing the business identity. For example, maybe you can hold back some of the specifics that would reveal the identity and talk more about the earning potential or the growth in the industry. The content of your listing itself beyond the location reveals or conceals a lot about the specific opportunity.
