We measure, manufacture and install screens for windows, doors, porches, and patios on-site and at the convenience of our customers. HOW OUR BUSINESS MODEL WORKS:

Our trucks and screening trailers, which are what allow our Franchise Owners to screen on-site and in real time, are the focal points of our business model. This is what puts the mobile in Screenmobile! Additionally, due to the setup and branding of the modernized trailer, we’ve seen a significant increase in job requests from ‘walk-up’ clients - which we encourage. As a result of our own ongoing corporate support, Screenmobile currently has a 99% renewal rate of our Franchise Owners.

History

We were founded in 1980 by Monty M. Walker, (known lovingly as “Pops”) and his two sons, Scott and Monty L Walker. Pops and his sons started repairing and installing screens for their Glendora, California community using a large wooden tent trailer. Based initially out of the Walker family garage, Pops and his two sons would be on the road, repairing, customizing and installing a variety of screens. Pops' wife Sharleen was their first employee, managing the Screenmobile office out of the Walker family's spare bedroom, answering the phones, booking jobs, managing her boys' schedule and handling the finances.

Quickly building a reputation for quality, professionalism and mobility, the Walkers expanded their Screenmobile operations to Palm Springs in 1981. The Walkers discovered that they were the only business to screen on-site, allowing for an efficient and timely service that was not replicated elsewhere, a vital element to Screenmobile's expansion.

The Walker family understood how vital the trailer was to their ability to be truly mobile and upgraded to a larger, all-metal purpose-built trailer that allowed them to repair any size screen, and hold all their required tools and equipment. It also served another vital purpose, as a mobile marketing tool. Due to the setup and branding of the modernized trailer, it encouraged a level of approachability from ‘walk-up’ clients.

The Walkers saw a significant increase in job requests from people that would approach the trailer while the family was screening. Screenmobile's early success was based on Pops' simple formula, offering a quality product and service backed by a reputable family brand.

Training And Support

Training: Screen School

Screenmobile University is a 10-day training program that our new Franchise Owners attend. Our University and training center is situated at our Corporate Headquarters in California, minutes away from Palm Springs. Screenmobile University has optimized the traditional classroom to focus on a more practical education process. Within the University is our "Screen House" training and production center. This center simulates an 'In-Field' environment that allows our experienced instructors to teach our new Franchise Owners both the fundamental and technical aspects of screening.

Our 10-day Screenmobile University training program also teaches our Franchise Owners the fundamentals of Screenmobile business operations; administration, marketing, sales, screen production and installation.

Your training at Screenmobile University is just the beginning of your franchise education at Screenmobile. After Screenmobile University, you will begin a 13 week ‘Fast Start’ Program that will include a one hour video call once a week with your Support Manager from the Corporate Team. The Fast Start Program will aid you as you begin your journey as a Screenmobile Franchise and ensure you have a quick and successful ramp-up. We’ll equip you with all the knowledge and skills needed to become a successful Screenmobile Franchise Owner.

Beyond Screenmobile University and the Fast Start Program, you will find support by attending the annual conventions and regional meetings, reaching out to fellow franchisees via our Google Groups system and you can always contact the Corporate Office for any assistance you may need.
