Kidcreate Studio is an arts studio, just for kids! We specialize in children’s art classes, camps, and art-themed birthday parties, for kids aged 18 months to 12 years.

HOW OUR BUSINESS MODEL WORKS:

Kidcreate Studio is two businesses in one. We combine a brick and mortar Retail Studio (classes, summer camps, birthday parties, and retail sales) with On-the-Go Partnerships. The mobile model enables us to bring our great teachers and curriculum to other facilities, including community education, parks and recreation programs, preschools, daycare centers, and Montessori schools.

History

Founder Lara Olson was discouraged by the limited amount of art exposure and education her son Jake was receiving in school. Jake found tremendous joy in the creative process and suffered none of the frustrations he was experiencing in other classes. After learning that Jake was receiving less than one hour of art classes in school per week, Lara knew she needed to find a way to add more art to his education.

In the spring of 2007, the first Kidcreate Studio opened its doors in Eden Prairie, Minnesota, offering kid’s art classes, camps, birthday parties and art-themed retail items. Soon after opening, Lara launched Kidcreate Studio’s On-The-Go division. This division created partnerships within the community that enabled Lara to bring the same high caliber teachers, (known as instructors in the Studio), and curriculum being used at the Studio to other facilities including community education centers, parks and recreations programs, elementary schools, preschools, and daycares.

In the spring of 2013, after the success of the Eden Prairie Studio and encouragement from customers, Lara opened her second Kidcreate Studio in Woodbury, Minnesota. In 2016, inspired by the success of the business model, Lara decided to franchise. She sees franchising as the most fundamental way to grow the Kidcreate Studio brand, and as an opportunity to extend the benefits of the curriculum to more communities.

Training And Support

Training: Kidcreate Academy:

Kidcreate Academy is a 10-day training program that our new Franchise Owners attend and graduate from. The program consists of a combination of self-study, classroom training, and on-the-job training. The training program takes place at our Corporate Headquarters, affiliated Studio locations, and at our Franchise Owners’ location. The program covers business management, sales and marketing the art education aspect of owning and operating a Kidcreate Studio. At the end of the training program, you’ll receive a diploma.

How We Support You:

When beginning your entrepreneurial journey, we understand support means everything. Our Founder Lara Olson wishes that when she opened her first store in 2007, she had more support. That’s why she and her Corporate Team have built out a system of support processes that can be tailored to any needs of our new Franchise Owners. We believe that for you to be a genuinely successful Owner/Operator, we need to provide you with ongoing support, the latest technology, marketing strategies, a knowledgeable real estate team and field support.

Ongoing Support:

Ongoing support is based on your individual needs and situation. Franchise Owners also have 24-hour access to the Kidcreate Studio intranet, which contains extensive training videos and manuals detailing every aspect of daily operations. Our Corporate Support team is also available via telephone or email.
