Jani-King is the largest commercial cleaning franchise in the world, with regional offices in 14 countries. The company provides cleaning services to clients in virtually any setting, including factories, office buildings, banking institutions, hotels, casinos, sports stadiums, restaurants and hospitals. Several high-profile contributions include cleaning the Olympic Stadium Nilton Santos in Rio de Janeiro for the 2016 Olympic Games, and coordinating cleaning of the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.

Jani-King provides day-to-day and deeper maintenance of hard floors, carpeting, walls, building exteriors, windows and other surfaces, while also handling trash removal, dusting and all primary cleaning services. Proposals are tailored to the individual needs of each client facility.

Franchisees perform cleaning services using teams of employees that vary in size according to the local market, along with a full complement of high-tech equipment. Many franchisees utilize powerful vacuums, wet-dry vacuums, ride-on scrubbers, pressure washers and commercial carpet extractors to achieve excellent results.

Why Choose Us?

Having the backing of a well-known brand may make new account acquisition easier, securing a trusted place in a competitive market. Jani-King simplifies this process for franchisees by handling lead development and billing services completely, turning over new accounts for its franchisees to serve. Also, where national accounts are present, Jani-King can coordinate between several different locations to provide service in each city or state needed, increasing potential profits even more.

This international commercial cleaning brand has several partnerships in place in the equipment, product and uniform industries, which may provide franchisees with lower equipment purchase or lease prices than what lone businesses could secure. Business insurance is also offered at lower rates.

Franchisees can expect a large amount of assistance and instruction related to day-to-day operations, employee training and accounting. Ongoing instruction especially focuses on up-to-date cleaning methods for industry best practices, including online courses that target specialized cleaning areas. The majority of this initial and supplementary training is offered free of charge.

Ideal Candidate

There are two main business opportunities offered by Jani-King: unit franchises and master franchises. Potential owners of smaller unit franchises need to have a strong drive and the ability to dedicate significant time to the business personally, as well as sufficient capital for the initial franchise fee, product purchases and equipment leases. There is a large variety of franchise plans available, so both small business owners and experienced entrepreneurs can select one that fits their financial means.

Many Jani-King franchisees reduce overhead by operating out of their homes, which is actively encouraged by the brand. This option means having an area with sufficient storage for needed commercial cleaning equipment.

Potential master franchisees need to have solid previous business experience and excellent people skills. They are responsible for interacting with new accounts, searching for other sub-franchisees and coordinating operations and employees in their target region.

The history of Jani-King began in 1969, with James Cavanaugh, Jr.’s one-man operation. After lots of hard work and smart marketing decisions, the company achieved a solid brand reputation and a strong client base. In 1974, Jani-King expanded its operations through franchising.

From the beginning, the Jani-King franchise operated in a unique manner: In addition to guidance and training, franchisees were provided with an initial base of corporate accounts. To this day, Jani-King takes on the responsibility of securing sufficient clients for its franchisees to serve.

Between the 1970s and 1990s, this national cleaning powerhouse extended outwards into Canada and overseas, eventually reaching markets in 14 countries around the globe. Australia, the UK, Brazil and Hong Kong are just a few countries where Jani-King operates.
