Extreme Pita is dedicated to the pursuit of delivering the perfect pita to all who order the dish. The franchise also strives to deliver flavorful, fresh food in a fun and fast manner, or essentially to provide patrons with a convenient meal option they can feel good about. In addition to offering pitas that are sauced, tossed and wrapped to perfection, Extreme Pita also offer soups, salads, flatbreads and other assorted menu items. The franchise also offers breakfast, a kids menu and catering.

The brand believes that a great meal is about more than bringing happiness to customers' taste buds. It also believes that any restaurant, whether sit down or fast food, should be a place in which family and friends can gather, relax, eat and enjoy one another's company.

Customers, when they order an Extreme Pita pita, know they're going to get a filling and flavorful wrap they can feel good about. These pita wraps are less about the bread, unlike many sandwiches, and more about what goes into them. This is evident in the brand's Signature Pita Menu, which includes Thai Chicken, Buffalo Chicken, BBQ Steak and Chipotle Chicken.

In addition to candidates with a minimum of $100,000 in liquid assets and a net worth of $300,000, Extreme Pita is also looking for those who have restaurant experience. The parent company also appreciates candidates who possess strong organizational, operational and marketing training skills and traits.


Brothers Alex and Mark Rechichi, both entrepreneurial by nature, founded extreme Pita in 1997 after raising $60,000 through odd-jobs, which also happened to put them both through school. They opened their first outlet in Waterloo, Ontario in Canada.

For the first two years after opening the first store, Alex worked as a sales associate for an industrial supply company. However, in late 1998, he decided to focus exclusively on Extreme Pita and quit his job to invest 100 percent of his time into his business. A year later, Mark, an accountant, joined the company full-time.

Since then, the pair have opened 200 outlets across Canada and expanded into the United States. The brand differentiates itself from other sandwich joints by sautéing meats and vegetables on the grill rather than in oil on the stove and steering clear of processed meats and cheeses. All sauces are low in fat.
