History

The original Chili's restaurant was founded in Dallas Texas by Larry Lavine. His goal was to share the smokey flavors and old style spices of southwest Texas with the world. He was inspired by the Terlingua Chili Cook-Off which used these spices on everything from ribs and chicken to hamburgers. When he opened Chili’s Hamburger Grill and Bar in 1975, he served homemade, quality food and drinks in a casual atmosphere.

Since then, Chili’s has been growing throughout the United States and internationally adding to its menu. Today, Chili’s' menu includes many original recipes as well as a few new creations developed along the way. Chili’s food delivers mouthwatering flavor with every meal satisfying everyone's cravings. Whether the food has Texas roots or a variety of twists on America’s favorites, all Chili’s food comes with friendly service, a welcoming environment and a warm smile.
