Grocery Distribution Panhandle, South GA, to Ocala. Seller had been in the distribution business servicing the larger grocery store chains. Sales in 2018 up $80K compared to 2017. Saw a need for products in independent grocery stores that were not available. Built on this idea along with keeping the shelves stocked with special trips if needed. Evolved into creating a brand of products which are sold to the distribution company and resold to the grocery stores. Year over year gross sales growth, this year trajectory up about $150K. Buys from 22 vendors, spices, moon pies, honey, local all-natural jams with no corn syrup, real fruits, fish fry, crab boil, pecans, holiday cakes and candy, Vigo products to name a few product lines. Gives better value with larger size for the same price or slightly less than the national brands. Services approximately 170 to 180 customers in two routes. Routes were originally run by seller, now in mid-70’s turned them over to two independent distributors that handle only his products. Seller splits the profits 75% to distributor serving the customers and keeps 25% for the house. One distributor earns $92K and the other earns about $135K, which would be taken over by the new owner all or part of it. Each distributor has their own company and paid as 1099. Many, many opportunities to add products, volume and profits, seller just to old for it. Net could be doubled or increased significantly by taking over a portion the route(s) or both of the two routes. Seller just to old for that much work. No warehouse, products are keep in distributors warehouses. Seller works from home. Seller orders products; invoices the customers; and pays the distributors. Works about eight hours a week. Ideal buyer would be familiar with grocery store routes, be active in the business, and understands the importance of servicing the customer every week and not running out of product on the shelves.
