We have over 25 years experience founding, operating, buying, selling, brokering, franchising, and consulting on small businesses. We tend to represent business owners who have annual revenue below $3 million dollars and/or a selling price of below $1,500,000. We specialize in "main street" businesses with enterprise/business value between $250,000 - $1,000,000. We concentrate on service oriented businesses.

We hose a podcast (Defy The Odds Show) which helps both buyers and sellers reduce the unknowns and fears around buying or selling virtually any small business.

Ultimately, whether you're buying or selling a small business, you'll need three things.

First, you'll need a plan. In the case of sellers, this is often called a transition plan. For buyers, it can take the form of a strategic plan or a "game plan" for how you plan to purchase a small business.

Secondly, you need to understand the value of your business. We've created a proprietary "Business Range of Value Report" we share with every one of our clients so you can make informed decisions about the business you're selling or buying.

Third, you'll want to follow a proven process. Every deal we've ever been a part of follows a 6 step process. Each deal will have steps that may be both longer and/or shorter as compared to other deals. But, it's been our experience that deals follow this 6 step process. Not following our process usually results in deals that don't work...for a variety of reasons.

The odds of successfully buying or selling a business are under 50%. Having a plan, understanding value, and following a process go a long way in dramatically improving these odds.

Over the last 25+ years, Mr. Hill has been a successful small business person, entrepreneur, and business broker. He has personally sold businesses valued at over $2,000,000. He understands how hard it is to build a successful business and is ready to lend a helping hand.

A graduate of Columbia University, Mr. Hill has also written several books on how to buy/sell a small business. He hosts a bi-weekly podcast on ITunes (and other outlets), and also has created several courses on how to buy/sell virtually any small business.

Follow a process. Don't skip steps in the process. There are too many pitfalls that can kill a possible deal.
