I'm a conscientious and personable finance/accounting professional with 15+years experience across a variety of industries. I have an established history of partnering with small business owners and organizational leaders, providing financial guidance and expertise across a wide range of financial responsibilities. Most recently, I managed a portfolio of private equity investments, providing a full range of accounting and financial analysis responsibilities as a fractional CFO/Controller.

I'm currently collaborating with a relatively new company attempting to use the broad knowledge I've obtained over the past two decades in business valuation, financing and financial markets, project management, and private equity transactions to help small business owners in their succession planning and their ultimate exit from their business.

I'm a dedicated father of two great kids, a passionate volunteer baseball coach and a decent piano player. I'm a native of Southeastern Ohio/West Virginia even though I've spent most of the last twenty plus years in North Carolina. I'm a diehard Wake Forest sports fan and I'm tirelessly attempting to figure out how in the world I'm going to afford to send my kids to the greatest school on the planet. Go Deacs!

West Virginia native with Bachelors and Masters Degrees, with honors, from Wake Forest University, Andy brings a broad and extensive financial and entrepreneurial background to the Legacy Business Advisor's team. After three years in Ernst & Young’s Audit and Assurance services division in Washington, DC and Chicago, IL, Andy spent three years as an Internal Auditor and Controller for a multi-billion dollar publicly traded real estate development conglomerate, specializing in internal control testing, process improvement, audit support, and forensic accounting. Upon moving to Raleigh, NC in 2003, Andy purchased and sold multiple child development franchises, raising enrollment nearly 50% during his tenure as owner while also receiving multiple franchisee awards and serving as a member of the national advisory committee. After the franchise sales, Andy joined a large privately-held information services company, primarily responsible for partnering with the firm’s management team and handling all financial analysis and financial reporting functions for a $100M division, including in assisting in the valuation of potential acquisitions. During his three year tenure, Andy received multiple promotions/awards, including the company’s top new contributor award in 2009, and left the company as its Director of Finance in 2011. For the last three years, Andy has provided fractional CFO/Controller services to a portfolio of operating companies and private equity investments with services ranging from bookkeeping and financial reporting to strategic planning, budgeting, forecasting, valuation, and audit management.
