Our Specialty & Natural Foods Brokerage/Sales Repping company is now 30 years old, and going strong! We represent over 60 different exciting product lines, and we sell to retail stores throughout the N.W. states.

Some of the product categories that we represent include fine chocolates, caramels, taffy, toffee, caramel corn, jerkies, natural snack bars, spice blends, huckleberry products, Himalyan Salt products, BBQ sauces, olive oils & balsamic vinegars, specialty crackers, cookies, teas, and gourmet cocoas. We have many Gluten Free, Organic, and All Natural products in our mix. We also work with some non-food companies that produce products like natural body care items (lotions, soaps, lip balms, candles, etc.).

Some of our suppliers we represent will create private labels for our retail stores. This is a hugely popular category for us currently!

We specialize in finding Leading Edge product lines that are at the forefront of current & popular food trends.

Who are our customers? We work with many types of retailers in the N.W. states of Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and Montana. These include independent markets, natural food stores, fruit & produce markets, wine shops & wineries, meat markets, tourist resorts, candy stores, kitchen shops, and more. Also some smaller chains like Market of Choice stores in Oregon.

How do we make our income? We have a team of 5 sales representatives (including the owner) currently, and we work on straight commission paid to us by our suppliers. Most of our business is repeat business (usually reorders) coming from our retailer customers. Face to face sales calls are important, but a high percentage of income comes from orders that are emailed, faxed or called in to our offices.

Our business is based in the Inland N.W. Since this is where the owner lives and has his personal sales territory (eastern WA, ID, and MT), the majority of our sales come from this territory. So this would be the perfect business for a person or team that also lives in this area. We also do have 2 independent reps in western Washington, and 2 more based in Oregon.

Since we don't have to deal with consumers, all of our offices are home based. This will keep your overhead costs down to a minimum, if you choose to continue running the business this way. We meet with our customers at their stores. We also have access to a permanent showroom in Seattle at the Seattle Mart, where many of our product lines are on display.
Competition:
There are very few specialty foods brokers in our region, especially here in the Inland N.W. We are very well established with over 200 happy retailer customers! Of course there is much more competition in the large cities of Seattle & Portland...but our reps in those areas still do very well!
Growth & Expansion:
Natural, organic, and specialty foods are hot, trendy areas right now, and this business is in the driver's seat! Possible new ways to expand include selling to internet-based retailers, restaurants, delis, and other foodservice businesses, and mainline grocery retailers.
Support & Training:
We are willing to train the new owner(s) on all aspects of the business including product lines training, the sales process, and internal order processing and accounting.
