Business Description

Ideal for retired/semi retired couple or single person.

The original store was founded, in 1979, as a weekend venture in Southern California. We subsequently sold our two stores there and opened our first Arizona store in 1987. After 20 years we sold our second Arizona store in 2010. We have been in our current location for 31 years.

Ours is an all-cash business. We do not accept plastic, but we do accept checks from all over the USA. We make regular use of our customer ledgers - which show a history of trading transactions as well as cash purchases - for exclusive cash discount mail promotions. We also use many daily and monthly specials.

Most of our inventory is acquired by trading. Purchases are limited to fast-moving, quality, items.

We maintain a well-organized store, not typical of the majority of used bookstores. Paperback novels are filed alphabetically by author. We are very picky about book condition - our customers know they will receive a clean, quality, product. Large selection of Southwest and other History, Art, Westerns, Mystery, and Romance. Due to the unusually fine condition of our inventory, first-time visitors often think they have walked in to a new bookstore!

We DO NOT knowingly shelve ex-library, condensed, highlighted or marked books. We DO NOT stock cook books, craft books, gothic romances, school texts, computer, self help, motivational, business, financial, economic or other slow moving categories where the information is readily available for free on the internet.

Tuesday through Friday, 10-30 to 5:30, and Saturday 10:30 to 3:00.
