My company, founded in 1983, was born out of necessity. A newly single mom with a history of art & crafts, was going to show them what was possible. I knew how to weave and applied my love of nature and color to my new medium, using rayon chenille (and then later, cashmere). My first account was with Bendels on Fifth Avenue in NYC. I was the first on line at an open-to-see day with the buyers, and received my first order. It took me a week just to ship it by myself, and it was only 90 scarves.
After finding success with Bendels, I knew I was on to something. I intuitively knew to aim high.
I reached out to Barney’s NY. The women’s buyer wouldn’t take my calls, but I was determined.
I found my way to the Men’s buyer, now VP of Barney’s, and before I knew it, I had landed what would become a thirty year partnership. Barney’s featured us on the first floor year after year, featuring us and our loom, in-person on their Artisan Day for almost a decade, and selling in all their stores around the country.
Barney's became a major calling card, which opened doors at Bloomingdales,Bergdorf Goodman, Neiman Marcus, Paul Stuart, Overland Furs and hundreds of luxury stores over the years for both men and women. I complemented the wholesale business by becoming a major player in the high-end craft market for the the past 30 years.
Our company is known for three things:
- top notch design sensibility and weaving technique
- handmade in the USA (mostly in upstate New York)
- extreme Brand loyalty (average customer lifetime of over 15 years, owning more that 10 pieces per customer)
To this day, I am extremely proud of what I have created. Having supported my local economy by employing dozens of other young single moms and upholding a very high standard of production and design, my company’s name now extends far and wide for the integrity and quality that it brings to my customers and stores.

I am looking to to sell this business, to someone who can manage the production and distribution of the label. I would serve as a design consultant, continuing to generate the creative drive behind the brand and overseeing quality standards of production.

We are leasing year-to-year in the center of a famous tourist town in the Hudson Valley, though this business can be moved anywhere. All our equipment, including looms, reels, sewing machines, displays, inventory, etc. are included.
Competition:
I sell at the very finest stores across the country and in London. Our product is the very best in its niche in a specialty market of handmade in the USA. There is really no competition that can compete with the quality and beauty that we are known for. The high end Craft Shows also offer the very best clientele with an email following of 3000 customers that love our scarves.
Growth & Expansion:
There are so many retail venues that I have not reached as yet, and so many stores that have sold in the past and are very interested in purchasing again. I only see a very positive path ahead for this company. The fine Craft Shows have been very lucrative, and the personal interaction with the clientele and fellow craft artists is so rewarding.
Support & Training:
I would be very interested in consulting and training, and give all the support needed.

I've worked this market for 35 years. I'd like to spend more time with family.
