Business Description

Profitable Outdoor Recreation and Entertainment

A rare opportunity in the popular Saint Augustine Florida location - the nation's Oldest City. A commercial pontoon inland tour boat service, with one-boat, a 22 passenger capacity, and a permanent docking berth at the business site. Sightseeing and ecological water tours include historic landmarks and beautiful scenery. The owner is the only employee, and works part-time, averaging 25 hours a week. Tours are by appointment, and include both individuals and private group charters. The tours are arranged by phone, email or online booking. This is an enjoyable outdoor Florida lifestyle, which earns good part-time income and introduces the owner to people from all over the U.S. and world. Customers always leave happy. A fun business for an individual or family. Excellent growth potential. The financial information shown above is for calendar year 2018. If interested, contact Jeff Lockett at Florida Brokers - email or phone 407-210-6529.

Detailed Information

1 - the owner
Furniture, Fixtures, & Equipment (FF&E):
Included in asking price
The lease includes exclusive docking privileges and is transferrable to a new owner. This is a valuable asset since there are limited areas to dock in the tourist area. The commercial pontoon is a 30' x 10' vessel that is US Coast Guard certified, and has the current required Certificate of License Inspection. The tour boat is fully covered with a roof. The vessel is well-maintained, and in excellent condition. It has a current market value of $75,000. There is a bathroom on board.
There are two major competitors. One has a very large vessel that carries more passengers, yet is prohibited from touring unique alternative waterways due to its size. The other has higher prices and offers no protection from the sun, wind or rain. Both competitors have limited parking space.
Growth & Expansion:
Excellent growth potential. There is a large year-round tourist population in the area, which is a vacation destination. The business owner is an excellent boat captain and tour guide who enjoys being on the water and customizing his routes to customer's preferences. He does very little advertising. There is significant growth opportunity for targeted marketing in media publications, social media, and in hotels, motels and inns where tourists stay, in restaurants where they eat and in community business organizations such as the Chamber of Commerce, etc.
Support & Training:
The owner will train a new owner at no cost. The sale includes the commercial boat, customer log books (both on-board and computerized on-land), tools, supplies, the business phone number and other items. The owner will provide a non-compete agreement within a 100 mile radius of the business.
Reason for Selling:
Family relocation to West Coast of Florida.
