The Anaconda also area boasts of being (literally) on the very edge of the Pintler Wilderness Area, a dozen miles from a great ski resort, a few blocks from the famous Jack Nickolas designed golf course, Old Works, and surrounded by trout streams and mountain lakes. Wildlife is so abundant that seeing deer, mountain sheep and even elk in the city limits is common. Anaconda / Butte are also nationally noted for their history and historic preservation attractions. The majority of the Inn's business comes from travelers visiting Montana, yet HHI has a significant and steady use by local (Deer Lodge / Silver Bow County) residents entertaining out of town guests, weddings, graduations and reunions. Anaconda and Butte also host many sport and entertainment events which provide additional guests.
