Business Description

Live Your Dream Be Your Own Boss And Groom Fur Balls All Day

When I got out of grooming school I thought I was ready to take on the world (grooming world).
Well that did't last long not only couldn't I groom more than two dogs a day, I had to hunt for each one. It got very expensive real fast, well two years later I had 6 to 8 dogs per day and I could groom that many as well. So now 10 years later I turn away 5 to 10 new clients per month. When I started this there were at least 6 other persons that tried to start a mobile as well, six months later all those others were gone. When groom shops charge $25 to $30 per groom and I charged $60 to $100 per groom it cuts out the week at heart real fast.
I still charge twice what these shops charge and people will pay for the convenience of having you come to them and some dogs don't do well traveling or being placed in a crate while at these shops. None of my clients would like to go back to the Stone Age that's where you come in. If you are an excellent groomer and love dogs this is the place for you. I promised my clients I would only sell this to someone who cares and will continue to love their dogs like I have.
My schedule currently is full and set up, all you have to do is follow my lead.
I have a very nice groom truck, it is a converted class "C" motor home with all the equipment in to do a good job. The inside walls are white fiberglass and very easy to clean, the tub is custom made for me by a local sheet metal shop, complete with a ramp for the larger dogs to walk up into the shower. The groom table is special as well, it lowers to 8 inches off the floor for the old folks to get on with ease.
The Truck is in excellent condition and well maintained, plus it comes with 4 studded snow tires for winter driving.
It has a 30 gallon fresh water tank and a gas water heater, I have never run out of either. There is a gas furnace for those cold winter days and an AC unit for the hot ones.
A new groom truck can cost in excess of $100,000.00, so how many dogs do you have to groom to pay for that. If you would like to purchase the book of business without the truck and located a truck that you feel would suit you better we can arrange that at a lower purchase price. I can sell mine to someone else.
The truck has a 7000 watt Onan generator, that can power all the equipment with ease, I also have a back up generator in case this one breaks down and it needs to go to the repair shop. The truck has all the equipment a groom shop has just on wheels. You will be impressed with this type of set up and business model.
I service Elkhart, Goshen, Middlebury with a few in Mishawaka. You will enjoy all these clients and the dogs I promise you.
I know this sounds like a daunting undertaking, since I have been doing this so long it is easy for me, with time and patience you will do great, I am available to guide you and hold you up, your success with this means a lot to me and the clients. Just think about me I had no one to help me and it was scary at the beginning, after a short time I saw the light at the end of the tunnel and look how it turned out for me.

Detailed Information

Elkhart County, IN
Included in asking price
Furniture, Fixtures, & Equipment (FF&E):
Included in asking price
There is no Realestate included in this sale, just the book of business, groom truck and the web sight and product inventory at closing. (Home Based)
The groom shop are not a concern, they are cheep and people get what they pay for. As I stated earlier I turn away more grooms per year than they complete. There are two other mobiles here but you will never see them, their trucks are not marked and they don't want any more business either.
Growth & Expansion:
If I were younger I would have added more trucks to my business, however I am 72 and have no interest in the amount of effort it would take to grow the business. I do however dog set some of my groom dogs, my wife does not like it so I can't do much, but I have some favorites that I still like to have over.
Financing should be through an SBA lender
Support & Training:
I am willing to travel with the new owner for 6 weeks as that is my rotation. I will guide you through groom and will provide support after the sale. If I move then I will give guidance to you via the phone and internet. Believe me I have experienced it all so I can coach you through any thing.
Reason for Selling:
I would like to retire, as I am 72 and tired
