This woven cut-and-sew apparel factory is located in the Mid-Atlantic section of the U.S. East Coast. It has a long history of producing private label shirts for many recognized international retailers, including Adolfo, Bill Blass, Halston, Lord & Taylor, Nicole Miller, Saks Fifth Avenue, and Joseph A Bank. Later on, although most apparel production left the United States, this company was able to continue operations, serving market niches where its better-quality domestic production remained competitive. The Company currently manufactures and markets better quality woven dress and formal shirts, high-end professional work apparel, and custom garments. These products are of higher quality and durability than “off the shelf” equivalents, and the Company offers personalized tailoring to better suit its individual customers. It currently operates three divisions, each of which targets a separate market, and the Company has developed strategic advantages over its few domestic competitors.

The Buyer would be acquiring a high quality manufacturing facility supported by a stable revenue stream already in place, with additional production capacity available to support substantial further growth. All of the Company’s products are manufactured at its domestic woven cut-and-sew apparel factory. The Company’s headquarters and manufacturing facility are geographically close to major interstate highways and an international marine terminal. In total, 10,000 square feet are devoted to manufacturing, and an additional 10,000 square feet might be adapted to additional production. The owner is willing to discuss the sale of the real estate as a separate transaction.
The primary competition comes from foreign manufacturing facilities. While many U.S. apparel manufacturers had to close their doors in the face of foreign competition, this company was able to find market niches where its better-quality domestic production remained competitive. With an experienced staff, ample production capacity and proven quality of its products, the Company is well positioned to defend and expand its position in this competitive market.
Growth & Expansion:
In addition to providing manufacturing capability for a new owner’s product line, there are good growth prospects for the future for the Company’s existing lines of business and perhaps for other private label production. Today there is a strong move to “re-shoring” of apparel manufacturing, and aspiring domestic and international shirt sellers have approached the Company to manufacture shirts bearing the “Made in the USA” label. The domestic production also provides the opportunity to make product for military and other governmental agencies that require U.S. sourcing and/or Berry Plan compliance. The Company has already been certified in a number of military shirt products, and is in early discussions to produce shirts for a large government agency. The retail price point for shirts of this quality is high enough to allow an attractive profit margin for the Company.
Support & Training:
The operating staff is experienced and productive, and some staff members have been with the Company for years. It is anticipated that the workers would remain under a new owner. The cutting staff has a combined experience of over seventy years, and the production manager of eleven years had previously supervised a six-hundred-person factory for a major regional apparel manufacturer. Owner will remain for a reasonable transition period.
