Business Description

Make Your Own Schedule, Many Ways to Grow the Business

This business was started in Denver based on demand for the delivery of storage containers. The business has steady customers who call when they need a container picked up or delivered. The company has virtually no advertising budget, no rent, little administrative cost, and is very efficient. The owner believe this business will prosper with a focused new owner who could give it more attention. He went independent and started working for himself July 1, 2017.

The revenues over the trailing 12 months from August 1, 2018 to July 31, 2019 were 191K with earnings of 98K. The company had earnings of 100K in 2018 on revenues of 201K. The company’s profit margin is just over 50% which means that when the owner is working they are going to net more than 50% of what they charge in profit.

The new owner will have many ways to grow the company by expanding its advertising, adding another truck and driver, and by the owner working more hours.

The Sales price has been lowered to 150K from 225K which includes a 2018 Dodge Ram 3500 dually 6.7 liter high output engine with aesin transmission and a 3:73 rear end that he paid $58,799 in early 2018 for and a trailer currently worth 12K. The sales price was established by the earnings with consideration to the current market value of the truck and trailer, recurring nature of the customers, some concentration of revenues, and the profit margin. This is an opportunity to own a company where you are your own boss, have an easy path to growth, and can build equity while you are making good money.

The company has built a great reputation and the ability to easily grow this company with very little cost. A new owner’s attention would increase the growth and profitability very quickly. Further growth will come from focusing on additional marketing and advertising.

No specific experience is necessary. The current owner can train the new owner quickly. This will allow the new owner to focus on growing the business. Non tractor trailer CDL OR Class A is required to operate this commercial vehicle.

The sales price has been lowered to 150K from 225K and he would like 130K down payment. If the buyer wants to take over the roughly 55K in debt on the truck(The 58K he paid for it plus the negative balance on his old one) the buyer will not have to write a check for the full 130K down payment. This means that the buyer will only have to bring 75K to the closing. There is no need for working capital. This is not bankable.

Brief Overview and Selling Points:

This company utilizes an outside contract Bookkeeper to handle all bookkeeping duties including payroll and tax preparation. A new owner can take over these responsibilities eliminating the additional cost, which are minimal.

This business has small and medium size recurring customers and the customer list continually grows with little effort. All of the deliveries are empty containers mostly from dealers, custom shops, or random customers wanting to move a container. 95% are delivered in Colorado typically under a 300 mile radius. He has delivered as far as California once, Cheyenne once in a while, etc. He works 45 to 50 hours a week which is not all driving. Containers can be customized many different ways: built out into offices, equipment storage, mobile repair shops, etc which can be expensive and the companies that hire him will pay good money to deliver these safely. This company has a reputation and track record that these companies trust.

The owner parks his truck at home and stores his trailer. The company’s debt will be zeroed out (paid off) with the owner taking his cash and will be keeping his collectable Accounts Receivables at closing which makes this a debt free sale unless the buyer wants to take over the debt to reduce their down payment.

The owner will help transition the business for a reasonable salary which he claims will not take very long. He will introduce you to his customers and go with you on the first month of deliveries so you meet most of the customers. The MC # is transferable but the DOT number is not which will take approximately 3 week process unless you already have a DOT.

This is a unique opportunity because of the profit margin and that it allows the owner a lot of independence. You will get paid based on how hard you want to work.
