One of the primary engines powering the Pacific Northwest economy are the privately held and family owned manufacturing plants, wholesale & distribution companies, retail businesses, technology firms, service companies, wineries & hospitality businesses, and professional practices that operate within the borders of Washington, Oregon, & Idaho. IBA has successfully negotiated and facilitated the sale over 4000 companies from these seven general industry categories since 1975. Our past transactions have included retail businesses in regional malls, marine oriented manufacturing plants in coastal communities, celebrity owned restaurants, cat oriented veterinary hospitals, software & E commerce businesses, franchises, promotional product companies, accounting practices, neighborhood florist shops, art galleries, and even a wholesale balloon distributor. The simple fact is that IBA in almost half a century of representing business owners has sold almost every type of business that participates in the Pacific Northwest economy. This transactional experience provides IBA’s professional business brokers with the market knowledge required to successfully complete transactions for our clients that accurately incorporate current market conditions and industry specific information.

Made In Washington was started in 1981. I purchased it in 1996. I call it Made In Washington and the Northwest, because of the large volume of Huckleberry products we sell. There are four main types of products: Crafts, Food, shirts (tee shirts and sweat shirts) and souvenirs. The Crafts, Food (lots of smoked salmon too), and shirts each account for approx. 1/3 of the income with souvenirs approx. 10% The store is located in Spokane's Downtown Mall. I have 4 part time employees. The store is easily operated by one employee most of the year, until the Christmas Season, and Saturday's during the Summer. Our customers are visitors from out of town, here to visit family, or attending a convention, or local folks going on a trip and wanting to take something from the Northwest back home, or sending something to family or business associates. We have an online store. Most of that business is at Christmas. The online part of the business could be expanded with help from a younger person. :) Also, if I were younger I would open a second and or third store in North Spokane and/ or The Spokane Valley.

When most people think of electric cars, they think of highway-speed cars such as the Nissan Leaf, Chevy Volt, or perhaps the Tesla Model S. What most people do not think about is the specialized niche of electric cars that only go up to 35 mph. These Neighborhood Electric Vehicles, or NEVs, have a variety of industrial, corporate, and governmental uses from parking enforcement for cities to golf carts at resorts, from security vehicles at college and corporate campuses to service vehicles at airports. This electric car company provides sales and service of neighborhood electric vehicles to institutional clients across multiple States in the Pacific Northwest. Reaching retirement age, the founder is looking for a partner who believes in the mission of the company with the ability to take the company to the next level. The asking price of $600,000 will grant the partner 49% ownership in the company, and the funds will not be personal compensation to the founder. Rather, the funds will be used as a cash injection to grow the business. The investor partner will be operating the business together with the founder. Eventually, the founder will transition into a mentorship role, leaving the investor partner in charge of running the company.
