Current owners are juggling several other ongoing small businesses, including two other successful restaurants in Washington, DC. After 7+ successful years of operations in Carrboro, we find we cannot realistically continue to devote the day-to-day involvement in Southern Rail that it deserves, so we are looking for buyers who can keep a vital and vibrant restaurant going strong in this fabulous facility!
We constructed Southern Rail in 2007, and have built up a huge regular clientele, generated excellent streams of revenues that powered us through the challenges of the 2008-09 financial crisis and beyond. This business does approximately $2 MILLION in Annual Revenues, with potential for much more by adding catering and events. Great financial potential for an experienced chef/restauranteur who can develop a creative menu and oversee the day-to-day operations. We have all applicable licensing and ABC permits, and well-established relationships with wonderful purveyors, including access to great local suppliers via the Carrboro Farmers’ Market, Cliffs Meat Market, and other grassroots providers.
Southern Rail is a special place, and we are very proud of the positive role it plays in serving and supporting Carrboro and the surrounding community. We are highly dedicated and will stick with keeping Southern Rail going strong until we find just the right buyer, but we are now actively seeking to pass the baton!
