Dynamic Finishes applies industrial coatings and paints, including Cerakote, Dupont, PPG & Prime Coatings liquid paints and water transfer finishes for large manufacturers to firearms, sporting goods, automotive interior parts, motorcycles and ATVs. A Certified Cerakote Applicator, our 11,200 SF facility in the central USA allows us to meet customer demands for medium and large production runs of up to 100,000 parts annually. We maintain a Federal Firearms License. We inventory parts for manufacturing customers to allow just-in-time order fulfillment. Customers enjoy visibility into WIP and estimated delivery times – with customer views linked to our production management system. Improvements in process automation have reduced delivery times, while significantly increasing capacity. Our hydrographic decorating process, also called camo dipping, hydro dipping or water transfer printing, uses film that mimics the appearance of wood grain, carbon fiber, woodland camouflage and other exotic finishes. Both Realtree Outdoors and Mossy Oak license us, as one of only a handful of companies, to apply their patterns to OEM products. We also use Cerakote ceramic coatings which have been lab-tested using ASTM standards and perform at the top of class for durability, hardness, flexibility and chemical resistance.
Our competitive advantage starts with engineering. Customers tell us that many hydro-dipping companies continue to use manual dipping processes and deliver inconsistent quality. Our machine-dip fixtures were developed with product specific 3-D printed and laser cut parts to optimize finish quality and production speed. Light weight custom jigs assure precise dipping angles, parts spacing, and parts density. We employ a process engineer for optimal plant efficiency. We operate one of the largest capacity third party processing firms in the Midwest and, as an independent third party applicator, we promise first-in, first-out rapid turnaround on parts. Our customers do not wait behind company-owned processor’s products, as is typical in the industry. Dynamic Finishes enjoys a roster of national accounts in the hunting and outdoor sports industry, including the largest maker of metal detector equipment, and three nationally prominent firearms customers, among a strong roster of national credit accounts.
About 10% of current revenues flow from individual customer projects. Dynamic Finishes earns first page results for most search specific terms on Google. Our website (www.dynamicfinishes.com) attracts almost 70,000 unique visitors annually and our Facebook page has more than 50,000 fans.
The business and facility can be purchased together for $900,000, or business assets can be sold and relocated with relative ease at an asking price of $300,000 for assignment of Realtree and Mossy Oak licenses, offer of non-compete, agreement to consult, about $32,000 film inventory, all fixtures and equipment necessary to operate the business, and social media properties, including the website and FaceBook pages.
The stable eight person team enjoys operating leadership on both the production floor and in the back office. The business is primed to expand with good sales leadership. Key steps include application of industrial paints and clear coats, dipping of parts in polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) films. Typical buyers of this sort of business have experience in powder coating, anodizing, blueing or other metal finishes. Hydrographic patterns can be applied to virtually any painted substrate, including stainless steel, other metals, wood, nylon and acrylic parts. Hydrographic printing is especially competitive for companies using ABS plastics tinted in the appropriate base coat for chosen patterns -- allowing us to simply wipe parts with alcohol to prepare them for direct dipping in the film inks.
