Ann Arbor, MI
Phone Home Repair is a 20 month old, conststantly profitable, retail smart phone/tablet repair and accessories shop. We have a killer location with some of the highest foot and street traffic in all of Ann Arbor! We also have an incredibly strong online presence with fantastic reviews on yelp and google reviews. The bulk of our revenue comes from cracked screen replacements. We are fast, with most repairs taking under an hour, and our reputation for quality is unmatched. The business is very manageable since 90% of our repairs are by appointment. I am follower of the Zappos company theory, and thats why we aim to deliver happiness to each customer. All of our employees go above and beyond to make sure the customer leaves with a smile. My favorite part of the business is that “ta-da” moment when a customer opens one of our shiney white boxes to discover their beloved phone restored to new condition.
This is my fifth smart phone repair shop I have started since graduating from Babson college in 2011. Every one of my shops was self funded with little to no money. I sold my three shops in California in February of 2013. I paid off debts incurred to grow those shops, got engaged, moved to Ann Arbor, bought a modest home and opened the new and improved Phone Home Repair. With Phone Home Repair I opened a high traffic retail location versus the almost hidden, low-end repair shops in California. We really invested in the interior of the building, spending $7,000 renovating and installing tasteful displays. I put my fiance in charge of merchandising since she was more experienced. The investment in a super premium retail location really paid off. Recently, the business has consistently grossed about $19,000 monthly. This business has the potential to do double that amount. After all, the Phone Home Repair has grossed over $1000 in a day many times with just one employee… The amazing thing is that we now spend almost $0 on marketing a month (not to say we did not spend thousands to build the customer base).
I am selling the business because I have started a related business with the help of an investor earlier this year. This new business has been taking up most of my time. Consequentially, I streamlined the repair shop. We got rid of the more troublesome repairs and focused on those repairs that made up 90% of the profit. Additionally, we scaled back our merchandise to the basics, so that we could afford the time to start the new business. The margins are at all time highs, revenues are strong and employee costs have been significantly reduced.
The great news is that my new business is remanufacturing the latest and most expensive LCD screens. And, the sale of Phone Home Repair includes a priority contract - making your costs lower than the competition. This has far reaching benefits, including the opportunity to build a low-cost mail in repair business online.
Phone Home Repair is perfect for someone who wants to work in the shop and net big profits. Since we have streamlined the repairs, training will be in depth, but the bulk of the repairs can be learned in about a week with our expert training. Additionally, my wife and I are willing to stay on and help run the business and train the new owner for one month and then periodically for three months. We still consult for our old shops in California, and you will have the same support especially since we live eight minutes away and don’t plan on going anywhere for at least a couple of years. When you buy a business from us, you gain a team mate and partner. The last buyer of our businesses in California is still going strong.
The only question now is, are you ready to own this fantastic business and reap the profits? The owner is motivated, and this business will not stay on the market long as it is priced under market to sell fast. My last shops sold for 6 figures and in just 10 days, so please do not hesitate to contact m
