About Me

I started my business life at a very early age drawn to almost anything I do with a bit of capital and support. My “business” work started with Kool-Aid stands, paper drives, snow shoveling crews, grass cutting crews, car detailing, selling greeting cards, paper routes and a bicycle repair shop. I started my first full-time business at the age of twenty- two with little more than a dream. This was the beginning of founding, building, managing and selling businesses for the next 40+ years. Small Business still remains my passion and helping people exit their businesses profitably is where my efforts are focused today. The types of business I have founded, managed & sold include providing service and distribution of hard wire communication systems for apartment buildings, nursing homes and hospitals, a stocking distributor, service and installation provider of communications and life safety and fire evacuation systems high rise apartment buildings. My most recent business provided commercial PCA due diligence reports creating 5 year capital maintenance expenditure programs based on ASTM-E2018 standards for lenders, investors, buyers and sellers. I have been directly involved with all building trades, high-rise communications, security, cabling, computer networking and repair, commercial building capital maintenance expenditure budgeting, real estate services, due diligence for real estate investors, condominium reserve studies through my networking and mentoring. I have also been directly involved with the startup phase of various successful businesses through SCORE mentoring. I began winding down my business interests in 2008 and began volunteering to serve the small business community. I was a SCORE/SBA Certified Mentor in Green Bay and Northwest Arkansas for five years where I helped entrepreneurs start businesses. My roles at SCORE included mentoring, webmaster, vice chapter chair and chapter chair. I also served as a volunteer mediator for the Mediation Center of Greater Green Bay for three years helping people resolve their disputes. I continue my volunteer work helping small business owners through my memberships in Rogers-Lowell Chamber of Commerce and Bentonville-Bella Vista Chamber of Commerce, where I serve on the Small Business Council and mentor small business members. I have also served as a judge for the Fayetteville Chamber of Commerce’s Entrepreneur Boot Camp, the Entrepreneurs Startup Cup, DECA and worked with The Governor's Dislocated Worker Task Force/Arkansas to help dislocated workers start and buy businesses. My home town is Chicago where I enjoyed the city life for over thirty years, the last 10 years of which included sailing out of Montrose Harbor as an active member of the Corinthian Yacht Club and Catalina Fleet 21. I lived in Green Bay from 2008-10 to be involved with the early years of his two grandsons and I have a beautiful granddaughter in Miramar, FL. Northwest Arkansas became my home in 2010, which immediately felt like home. My mother was born in Biscoe Arkansas and I have family in Atkins and Russellville and distant kin throughout Pope County.
