In 2003 at about 53 yo I divorced, and by necessity sold a start-up business, relocated to NC, lost a house and everything I owned in a hurricane, and moved to take care of my mother who was hospitalized in a coma in NY. This all happened in 12 weeks time, leaving my with nothing but debt and the clothes on my back. I had no job, no business, no place to live and no income. Life has been a struggle since. I am experienced, honest, reliable and have wide ranging abilities, and am simply hopeful of a long term position that will allow me to get my life back to normal. There are, in all honesty, very few "jobs" available to anyone today who is over 45yo, educated and/or experienced. Thus my reason for this posting. Thank you for reading and your consideration. WORK EXPERIENCE: RV Traders – Mesa AZ Sales Associate– sales of high end recreational vehicles (5thwheels, motorhomes and park model homes). Requires a demonstrated ability to communicate and develop an ongoing relationship of trust with consumers and an ability to develop customer loyalty and retention using written and verbal communication skills, excellent customer service, and a consultative approach to selling. Strong use of internet marketing and follow-up skills (phone and email). (2010 to Current) Renovators of AZ. – Mesa, AZ Owner/manager - Facilities maintenance project management on commercial rehab projects (flooring, painting, roof leaks, HVAC, plumbing, electrical and other various repairs); residential/RV/manuf. home repair, installation and maintenance projects including basic plumbing, flooring, and roofing, drywall repairs, painting and minor electrical. (2007-2010) Business Consultation – Mesa, AZ Owner/partner – Developed sales, marketing and customer service strategies for client businesses; Assist and consult on business growth and development with new and start-up small businesses; institute software programs, sales development, lead generation and sales follow-up for client companies (national restaurant franchise, telecommunications franchise operations, software development company, realtors; Closed due to failing economy. (2006) Concord Pools – Albany, New York Retail Sales Associate – Divorce and family issues dictated move to NY where I worked for Concord Pools for less than a year while there. They offered me a position in mgmt. training for a new location in Saratoga, but a death in my family and family issues with a daughter forced me to relocate back to AZ. Position entailed answering customer questions, water chemistry tests, sales, cashiering, stocking inventory, phones. Accepted retail store mgmt. position in Mesa but business was bankrupt and closed after 2 months. (2004-2005) Adams Premium Pool Service – Gilbert, AZ Owner – Pool maintenance & repair business. Developed a maintenance route in Chandler and Mesa. Sold the Mesa route and further developed Chandler route. Business included all maintenance and repairs including water chemistry, pump and filter repairs, surface and tile repair and cleaning, acid washes. Sold business due to divorce and left the state. (2002-2004) Sammy’s Restaurant – Tempe, AZ Owner/Manager of small family restaurant - This was a business turnaround. Redesigned menu, created marketing to drive traffic, and built to a profitable operation in 2 1/2 years and sold. (2000-2002) Brewers Connection - Tempe & Tucson, AZ Owner/Manager – Retail stores (2) and Import/Wholesale business; Development of related e-commerce/mail order sales. Duties/skills required in business management and operations, inventory mgmt., cost control, HR, P&L, marketing, advertising, business development and customer service. (1993-2000) Law & Legal – Phoenix, AZ ABA Certified Paralegal - Experienced office management, document management, experienced in family, transactional, business, contract and corporate law with advanced research and writing skills and experience; exceptional people and communication skills both written and verbal. Experienced business lobbyist, research and writing. Community Service – PTO and fund raising activities for local non-profit groups through various owned and managed businesses.
