One of a kind pub, the oldest family owned sports bar in Ann Arbor. Owner retiring. Turn-key operation - includes business, building, equipment and liquor license. Fraser's Pub was founded by Red and Joan Fraser, when they bought the building in 1962. They renovated the original building themselves, and eventually opened with a bar, six stools, 15 tables and a small, black and white television on the 0.39-acre property. That grew over time to the present-day pub, thanks in part to additions that bring it to just under 3,000 square feet: An extended bar, a front porch that became part of the footprint, an outside deck. An outdoor tent adds party space on football Saturdays. Bill Fraser took over the bar in 1978, after graduating from Michigan State University with a degree in hospitality management. Fraser's Pub is an Ann Arbor institution that is linked to football Saturdays, University of Michigan sports and much of the city's collective memory. The city's first sports bar, located on Packard Road, survives today with minimal changes over the years. It's the kind of pub where "you get what you get," said co-owner Bill Fraser. Beer is the drink of choice, the food is classic bar fare, the staff is friendly and an owner is always on hand. And every big game - from college to the pros - customers know they can show up and watch with a crowd, while photos of some of the biggest names in local sports form a wall of fame.
Competition: This favorite sports bar of the locals, features many big screen televisions, a large selection of beers, and a menu full of sandwiches, burgers, and hoagies. They are open daily for lunch, dinner, and late night dining.
Growth/Expansion: One of a kind pub, oldest family owned sports bar in A2. Extemely popular place to go on football Saturday's.
Reason Selling: Owbner retiring
