We are an Industrial Automation Control & Used Process Equipment Reseller. This is a one owner business established in 2008. We have been profitable since the first day and have grown rapidly over the years. Our business is unique in that we are not limited by fixed product lines, and sales jurisdictions. We have a brick and mortar store, but we can easily be relocated anywhere in the U.S. We have a good local customer base, but 90% of our sales come from out of state and overseas. This is not a drop ship business. Our customers are primarily manufacturing, and small businesses of every shape and size. Our business model has proven itself over the years, and the risk is low.
With my contacts, inventory is plentiful. We typically average a 400% profit on everything we sell. We have over $200,000 worth of inventory cataloged in stock with a value over $800,000. We own our building and it can be sold with the business, or if the buyer wants to relocate the business, it can be sold without the building. Our property is zoned Commercial/Industrial. All the equipment necessary to operate the business is included in the asking price along with the building.
We operate with 3 employees including myself. We average over $54,000.00 a month in sales over the last two years. In 2012 we averaged over $81,000.00 a month in sales. I expect if the business relocates, there may be a temporary decline in sales due fewer new products being added during the move and new location setup.
The most difficult part of the business for me, has been keeping up with the constantly changing search methods and SEO practices of selling online. I have chosen to maintain much of the website design and SEO myself. In 2013 we experienced a sudden drop in sales overnight. I soon found out that several search engines, and sales channels we use had all made significant algorithm changes. In addition to the algorithm changes, one of our sales channels had a technical issue that reset all our keywords to a default setting. It took almost 1 1/2 years to get back to our normal sales, and to fully understand what had happened to cause our problem. Despite that setback, we still made a profit, and today are on our way to having the second most profitable year since we have been in business.
I love this business, my only reason for selling is due to a life altering medical condition concerning my wife that happened earlier this year. I will still be able to help train anyone interested, and I may even be interested in continuing as a part time employee of this company.
