An unassigned run is contractually allowed to work, but you don't know where it will be dispatched each week. Last week, for example, one UA team did 4577 miles. Take a look at the numbers below: Revenue $7151.09 Safety Bonus at .037/CPM and 90% of the time earned = $152.41 Expenses Fuel at 6 MPG (fleet is at 6.3) = 762.83 gallons @ $2.102 this week (FedEx price) = $1603.47 Driver payroll @ .55 CPM = $2517.35 Payroll tax and Workers Comp at 25% of payroll (actual is 22.13%) = $629.35 Truck payment for brand new truck = $670/wk Insurance = $110 week Maintenance/permits/repairs budget per OOIDA is .12-.15 cents per mile. I use .15 = $686.55 Total per week = $1086.69 48 weeks (20 days a year lost to vacations/holidays/sick drivers) = $52,161.12 Does not factor in peak bonuses. September brings a 5.5 cent per mile raise = additional $12,083.28!!! Net cash flow = $0.2924 cents per mile. 4577 is not a very good week either! I had one team do 5394 and the other 4380 miles last week 7/24 Let's take a look at those numbers: 5394 miles Revenue: $8293.84 Bonus at 90% = $179.62 Expenses: Fuel = 899 gallons (6MPG) at 2.016 for this truck last week = $1812.38 Driver payroll @ .55 CPM = $2966.70 Payroll tax and Workers Comp at 25% of payroll (actual is 22.13%) = $741.68 Truck payment for brand new truck = $670/wk Insurance = $110 week Maintenance/permits/repairs budget per OOIDA is .12-.15 cents per mile. I use .15 = $809.10 Total per week = $1363.60 48 weeks (20 days a year lost to vacations/holidays/sick drivers) = $65,452.80 Factor in the September 5.5 cent per mile raise over 48 weeks = $14,240.16 additional Total is around 30.77 cents per mile...... Do you see the pattern? one low mile truck did just under 30 cents per mile, and one truck that did almost 900 miles more made about the same per mile. Unassigned teams average 4800 miles per week from what I have seen. My lowest was the 4380 last week. Let's assume 29 cents per mile and 4250 miles per week average per truck. That is $1232.50 per week for 48 weeks = $59,160. I am asking for a 3 multiple on these, which is average, and this assumes a low average weekly miles of 4250 per truck. The likelihood is you will average 4800 or $66,816 per truck per year. If that is the case, your return on investment is 38.18%. If the numbers come in on the low end at 4250, you are looking at an ROI of 33.8%. Can you get that in the stock market or apartments? This is a decent return with FedEx as the source of your income! I am not willing to finance the runs. I am willing to split them up into pairs of 2 routes each. An all cash buyer with $650,000 gets all 4! 6 employees will be provided. New owner will need to hire two additional drivers. Everyone wants a list of trucks that come with the business. The way I sell routes is for the runs only. If you want my trucks from my truck inventory, we will establish a price in the same way you would if you went to a dealer. I have brand new 2017 trucks and older trucks down to 2009. Offers need to be made for the routes only, and we can discuss the trucks separately. If you don't want my trucks, I have use for them elsewhere.
