This program gives support to business owners in two main areas. After several decades in the business world, I feel very fortunate to have arrived at a time and place where I can use the entirety of my experience, plus a large dose of creativity, to help others.

After earning a BA in Economics and an MBA from Wake Forest University, I started my career in the corporate world, focusing on market economics and international trade. I was involved in the negotiations for several international trade agreements, including NAFTA. Later I transitioned to corporate finance, working through the alphabet soup of M&A, LBO, and IPO and ultimately heading up investor relations for an NYSE-listed company.

When my company was acquired in a hostile takeover, I saw the opportunity to try a different path. I decided to take the leap and become a small business owner.

Ten years later, I have sold that business and have become a business broker and a Certified Business Intermediary. Now I can share my knowledge and experience with others, whether they are looking to acquire a first business, wanting to expand an existing business through acquisition or franchise development, or planning an exit from their business. I have been there myself – let me give you the benefit of my experience.
