Paul offers the business community a unique set of tools due to his diverse background. After graduating from the University of Virginia in Architecture and Graduate School at Cornell University in Structural Engineering, he worked 6 years at the largest Washington, DC Architectural/Engineering firm, VVKR, Inc. Becoming professionally licensed in both fields, he was selected to be the Vice-President of their Technology Division in order to implement their Computer Aided Design system.
From this experience Paul went on to found his own computer design, visualization, and software firm. With offices in Washington, New York, and Boston, the firm participated in many of the Massachusetts Big Dig design contracts. Running the day-to-day operations of IGS, Inc. provided Paul the insight and experience that business owners today can appreciate. He headed up the marketing and financial departments in the company for 12 years before selling it in 1997.
Paul then worked for over 8 years in the financial planning sector, helping with estate planning, financial independence and insurance planning. This appreciation of the financial process and structure helps him review and break down the complex accounting requirements involved in business brokerage.
Many of Paul’s financial clients, in their estate planning process, had businesses to sell, liquidate or transfer. Working to develop successful exit strategies in conjunction with other business brokers he acquired the business brokerage process from the grass roots level. As a natural extension of his financial background, he chose to concentrate on the transfer and exit strategies of business succession. Today Paul offers his clients an understanding of their situation, analytical abilities to build financial models via powerful software solutions, proven strategies to market the business, and the ability to implement creative solutions in order to complete a business transaction.
Paul is a principal at ROI Corporation, one of the largest brokerage firms in New England. He currently serves as Vice President of Sales. ROI concentrates on providing four primary services to their clients, seller representation, buyer representation, business valuation services, and fee-based consulting services for unique business transfer situations.
