John is an experienced Exit Planning and Transition guide, a past corporate executive and an entrepreneur bringing over 35 years of training, program management, business development, sales and marketing management and merger and acquisitions expertise to the market.
He has worked in domestic and international engineering, transportation, manufacturing, venture capital, technology, small and medium business development, coaching and exit strategy advisement. With a BS in Physics from Northern Michigan University, and an MS in Engineering from Michigan State as well as extensive courses in business and technology, John has broad experience in consulting engineering (power and alternative energy sectors), heavy equipment (locomotive and mining), high tech (fiber optic, data, cable TV and computer), contract manufacturing, venture capital and merger & acquisition business sectors.
John has experience in training (technical, creativity & innovation, sales management, business valuation), business development and global sales (managing in excess of a $430M P&L division, building business to business sales and service teams), program management (business turn around, manufacturing plant development and international joint venture programs), and has held a variety of leadership positions.
In addition to his varied areas of expertise, John’s previous experience both as a business intermediary and as a business owner enable him to provide clients with a unique perspective as they work through the process of transferring business ownership.
When not assisting clients, John enjoys his family and interests in the intersection of technology and education, biking, hiking, skiing, diving and teaching sailing.
