Bio - Dave Blackburn - President

Dave Blackburn is a seasoned executive with an extensive background in all facets of a business, including mergers and acquisitions, capital formation, strategic planning, financial management, operations, sales and marketing and technology. He has founded two companies, developed many business plans and led several turnarounds and M&A transactions. Daves experience spans numerous industries in both direct, hands-on management roles and as a consultant. His career began in financial and accounting roles, progressing to the CFO level and then to CEO. Dave is skilled at enhancing a companys bottom line and its market value, and he is an expert in process optimization, e-business and supply chains. He possesses a sharp business acumen and analytical mind, allowing him to quickly understand a business and drill down to key issues.

Prior to founding Insight Business Consulting, Dave was President & CEO of EC-HUB, Inc., a technology services company focused on business process automation across trading partners. He designed EC-HUBs solutions, oversaw R&D and led marketing to the automotive, foodservice, CPG and building materials industries. Key clients included Federal Mogul, Dana Corp., Holley Performance Parts, Topco, Hamilton Beach, DeWalt / Black & Decker and Carpet One. Dave raised over $2 million in private equity and successfully negotiated a merger, where EC-HUB was valued at $5 million.

Prior to EC-HUB, Dave led several financial turnarounds, and negotiated and integrated acquisitions for technology, automotive, office products and nonprofit companies. As CFO of Network Dynamics, Inc., a $4 million e-catalog and e-commerce company, Dave overcame significant losses and led the companys return to profitability in an eight-month period. He also coordinated the due diligence processes of several potential acquirers and prepared the company for its initial audit, concluding in its acquisition by a public company.

As CFO of VIPAR Heavy Duty, a buying group of heavy-duty truck part distributors, Dave oversaw a turnaround, and expanded purchasing programs and optimized rebate programs. Purchasing volumes increased from $80 million to $145 million over two years and rebates from 3.5% to 5.7%. He also formulated the groups hub-based e-business strategy and infused $2.5 million into the business.

At BT Office Products, a $100 million office products distributor, Dave provided turnaround leadership by achieving $1.7 million in annual cost savings, coordinating three acquisitions and improving reporting systems and decision-making. He led a turnaround for American Group Practice Association, a $4 million medical trade association, eliminating a $1 million deficit and increasing revenues 40%. Dave began his career at Price Waterhouse managing audits of manufacturing, distribution, banking, real estate, technology and nonprofit clients.

Dave holds a BBA in accounting from William & Mary.
