We understand that there are really only three reasons why a business doesn't sell. First is Price. The Price must make economic sense. Second is Terms. Nearly all small, closely held business will require some seller financing. We will show you how and why this makes sense for the Buyer and the Seller. Third, maybe the most important and usually the most overlooked, is Documentation to demonstrate that the Price and Terms do make sense.
Because of our long experience and the many hundreds of transactions we have successfully completed, we know how to structure win-win deals that benefit all of the parties involved with the transaction. We can also help develop and implement a short term or long term exit strategy to help a business owner obtain the maximum benefit when the time does come to sell. In some cases, we have helped develop and implement strategies that have increased the Owner’s equity several 100% in a relatively short time.
It has been said that the thing that scares people the most is speaking in public. Dying takes second place. That means more people would rather die than make a speech at a public event. What we know is that the loss of a loved one is one of the most emotional and stressful times in a person's life. We also know that, in many cases, selling a business is a close second. Because we have been through the process many hundreds of times, we can help take the stress out of selling your business and change your emotion from fear to confidence that things will be done right, your confidentiality will be maintained, and you will achieve the best possible outcome.
The same emotional roller coaster ride can exist for a Buyer. Again, because of our experience in handling many hundreds of business purchases, we can guide you through the business buying process. We can help you understand how a business is valued and the due diligence you need.
