Chuck is correct, but again, it is a local problem, in many circumstances. Maryland went through this ten years ago or so; Florida, where Chuck operates, is only going through this now. Since you did not stipulate where you are buying, it is difficult to provide a specific answer. But my comments still stands: It depends on your area, and A LOT of different issues.

Asking here, in this way is not the way to get your answers. You need to speak to the local dealer association, yor local EPA authorities, local distributors and some of the other people selling. Frankly, you should not be buying until and unless you have these answers; and I would have asked these questions well before making the decsions to even get into the market.

New EPA regulations regarding the mandatory replacement of in-ground gasoline storage tanks, which is very expensive, is motivating many of the current owners to sell.

I would sure as hell be concerned IN SOME AREAS, because IN SOME AREAS, Gas Station/C-Stores are lousy businesses! It depends on your area, your source of product, your brand, your competition, your zoning for new Gas operations in the area, and so on. If you have not checked all of these issues, you need to do so!
