We have been in the business of selling routes since 1985. We have found that approximately 70% of the Seller's in the route industry will assist with financing on almost any route as long as you place a reasonable down payment. Reasonable would typically mean at least 40-60% down. Otherwise, it is not typically worthwhile for a Seller to sell you his established, profitable business for a lower down payment.

With over 25 years of experience selling routes we can tell you that it is very rare that you would be able to get conventional bank financing for almost any route. There are however a few routes that do offer financing through there own banking sources. These companies include: Arnold, Tastykake, Circus-Man. With all of these you will still need a downpayment, none of the companies will consider no money down.
I would suggest that you start with a smaller FedEx route that fits into your current budget. Since you won't have a big note to pay off your net after debt service might even be similar. You're not talking to the right bank, and SBA is still the only viable program out there for small business. Not all banks will finance this type of business, but there are banks out there that are still actively lending. Don't waste your time on the bigger banks, talk to local or regional banks instead, including credit unions. There are some credit unions who also offer SBA financing. Good luck!
