I agree with Don on this one. You may want to consider testing your business plan in a lower rent area before diving into a contract with the airports. Once you have some data then you will be better positioned to know if you can turn a profit at the airports inflated rent rates.

We actually have a lot of experience with b2b vending. Government/Public related vending is always more challenging...especially in the case of airports. Don is correct about the costs. If you'd like some tips, feel free to check us out!

Each airport has a vendor agent, normally employed directly by the airport. The qualifications are extremely similar, from airport to airport. The requirements span local, Federal and even TSA regulations. The startup costs are extraordinarily high and the rent is enormous, which is why the prices of food and other products are so high. Moreover, they normally stack the deck against startups. Contact your local airport authority for specifics.
