Cash flow and gross revenue in the ads is for a year. Cash flow is not always the amount of profit you would make though so when you contact a business ask for the seller's discretionary earnings (SDE) or net income after expenses so you'll know what you'll actually make from the business. Also keep in mind that you won't be able to take all the profits out of a business, you'll need to keep some money in the business' account at all times for operating expenses so consider that when you look at the net income.
