Absolutely. The fee is negotiable and varies depending on the type and size of the deal. Generally, for larger, M&A deals the fee is a set minimum or some variation of the Lehman formula 5%, 4%, 3%.... For smaller, main-street deals the fees can range from $1,000 to a percentage of the deal and is frequently best paid by financing it into the deal by having it debited from the seller's proceeds at the closing. Many ways to get it done.
