The safest way is dont send it,.that was a joke.However you can send it to a broker but the name on the check could be of the lender, or open an escrow account in the bank that could be conditional.If this deposit is not required for processing all these can be done. Check the legitimacy of the lender but if a broker is involved nothing to fear.
