What is the best way to find an investor for my beauty boutique that I would like to start?

I am in the process of starting a beauty boutique in Lynchburg, VA, where I would sell high quality makeup, provide great customer service, and maybe provide DIY classes and demonstrations. I am looking for an investor who would help me finance this project, but also be a mentor.

Erika, if your goal is to provide information to customers then why are you not doing this right now? Why not creating a simple blog and getting some traction first. With traction you can then attempt to sell products you create with very little risk/capital. If you make some sell THEN go to an investor. Investors want to see either traction, experience, connections in distribution etc. Investors do not invest in ideas they invest in people with either a track record or current traction, thanks.

I have several funding options for you if you have decent personal credit. Since you are a new business and don't have a business history, you would need good credit in the beginning. But if you establish a strong business credit profile, you will get to the point where you can access funding without using any of your personal finances at all. You should really keep your business and personal finances separate anyway. Email me for more info at
