Asghar, as others have noted, everything is negotiable. But to be clear, are you talking about selling the business, the real estate, or both. Many brokers will quote you different rates for the real estate versus the business. The best thing for you to do is talk to a business broker to understand your options, your costs, the value of your business, and the time you should expect for the sale to occur. Don is absolutely correct. Everything is always negotiable. However, the normal commission for commercial property is 10% and 6% for residential in Southwest Virginia. That does not mean that every deal is set at that commission, that is the usual starting point. There is no "standard". It is rather illegal to post such information. You need to speak individually to Brokers in whom you may have an interest. All commissions are negotiable, between Buyer and Broker.
