What financial documentation do I need to sell my business?

Typically buyers will want to see the last three years of income statements, tax returns, and balance sheets. Plus, depending on the time of year, a year to date income statement and balance sheet. Other things to consider would be revenue by year and by customer, if customer concentration might be considered an issue.

Also, make sure you have a copy of any leases that the buyer will be assuming, any employment contracts, or other agreements such as distribution agreements, etc.

Put yourself in the buyers shoes. What would you want to see?
