Trying to finance start-up small business

Greetings, I hope I am posting in the correct place (if no, my apologies). Long & short of it, I am trying to finance a small business start up. The banks have been not much help and not sure where else to turn. As costs go, I'm estimating about 15K to get up and running. The business would be along the lines of a marketing company (don't want to divulge too much info yet) but if anyone is interested in learning more the company I am trying to get running and more about me and my business background, I'd be happy to provide the details via a slightly more private forum (email or phone call). Thank you
