Trend Data: Can anyone guide me to trend data on # of biz sold or listed by month. Esp. for Texas?

I found data on another listing site. But it is for California and the readers of my newsletter are in TX.

I would suggest that there is no central database that is able to give you what you require, in total. Too many businesses are sold without benefit of Brokers or even open adversiting. It is uncertain what your laws are in Texas, but the best source of sold businesses may be from your own Tax authorities. In Maryland, transactions of this sort are monitored so that the Taxman gets his pound of flesh, but that still does not help you with your number of listings. I do not believe you will ever find a reliable source of that information.

Dear David,
BizBuySell compiles Insight Reports on a quarterly basis and releases the information. You can go to http://www.bizbuysell.com/news/media_insight.html to see how to get a hold of the data. Best of luck to you.
