Responding to a prospective buyers inquiry

As a seller with an ad on line to sell a small company. What is the best way to respond to a prospective buyers inquiry? By Phone, or online. How much additional information should be given out in order to get a committment from a prospective buyer. What have other sellers experienced as a successful practice that connects you to a strong buyer. How can I securely release enough information to keep a strong buyer interested but let soliciting brokers know I am selling the company myself.
