Hi I'm looking to recieve $600-800k from a settlement. I'm planning to put $200k in a structure settlement and after I take care of expenses I should have 300k to spare for an investment. I would like to invest it on something profitable, if anyone willing to help me with ideas and opportunities.

Good afternoon and how are you? I hope your day is blessed!

I am writing to you to let you know about the opportunity that I may have for you, if it is deemed profitable by yourself and/or advisors.

The past 3-3.5 years of my life I have been working full-time with a very large door and window company that started an interior door replacement program that was sold exclusively through a big box retailer. We were in essence a little sub-division of a very large company. We were successful and profitable and sold and marketed through the big box retailer. However, the main company decided they needed the resources being used for our sub-division for the main business' core business products. With that said, the division will close by Fall this year.

I believe this is a blessing in disguise, as I have always contemplated my own business (very entrepreneurially minded), but I never had enough capital for some endeavors and I always had a full-time job not wanting to risk the jump. Well now the time has come.

There is a franchise that currently does what we did (finishing up). I literally have ALL the knowledge and expertise needed in this market, industry and niche that has been created via this sort of program. If it is marketed properly then it will flourish. I have financials I can e-mail you if you are interested in gross income and start-up costs...the start-up I would need or we would need would be around $300k, possibly $250k.

Please check out the franchise in some detail at and let me know what you think.

I can certainly e-mail the numbers I was given, and please keep in mind I have all the knowledge and experience needed for this to flourish. I just need the capital. I am young and very driven.

If you're interested in even more information, please e-mail me at:

Thank you and God Bless!

Thank you for the responses!

As for the business it depends on the business venture. If its something that involves graphic design or any creative arts and tech I wouldn't mind being an active partner. However, I'm not familar with the business and financial world because I never had this much money before in my life so if I were to be a silent partner I need to find someone that I'm confident in their abilites to us achieve our goals.

But like I said I'm new to this so I just need a push to were I need to go. I already set up appointment with a financial advisor from Edward Jones this weekend for help.

Hi Jessica
Trying to find a profitable business might seem easy, it's not. My wife and I are doing exactly what your doing right (investing about $200-300K) now we have a tough time trying to separate the "devil from the details" when it comes to reviewing a company's financials. It seems the businesses we've looked at (some on Craiglist, some with brokers) their records are terrible. You need to dig deep into the financials to find out what their REAL net operating income (owner's benefit) or EBITA in a large company. Once you get the real numbers you shouldn't pay more than 2X this for the business. Example: Company has $500K in revenue and owner's benefit is $75K. You shouldn't pay more than $150K for the business, or less. It also depends on the type of business for the ratio you would pay.

As Joe commented, figure out if you want to be an active partner. Is the business something you'll enjoy, or even have, or can develop a real passion for. That way it will never seem like work, and people who enjoy what they do usually always are more successful.

Also, how well do you skills and background match up with being an entrepreneur? If your not bringing in skills to the business (accounting, sales, operations, marketing) you'll have to hire or outsource this work.

How much risk can you tolerate, you'll probably get a few people here ( i think i've already read some) who
might have good ideas, but heck don't risk your money if they don't have any skin in the game. There are millions of people out there with good ideas, however if their idea doesn't work out with YOUR hard earned money they'll just move on to the next solicitation of getting an individual investor.

I certainly don't claim to be an expert at advice, so take it for what it's worth. Just be very cautious and judious with who you invest with. Also, get a professional person who evaluates companies--it would be well worth it before you take a leap into buying a business.

Good luck to you!

Well, im would first start by asking yourself, do you want to invest in and operate a business? Do you want to invest but not be an operating partner? Identifying your expected Return on Investment Rate along with time frame is also crucial as well. First start with a plan, then work outward from there.

So to summarize:
Do you want to be involved or hands off?
What do you want to make per year off the invested amount?
How many months until you want a a return on the invested amunt?
