Stay away from any of these food or bread routes. The numbers are way inflated -- from puffery to being totally dishonest. Even if it were true, is it worth it to spend $300,000 to make (if you believe the numbers) $55,000 a year and that isn't even counting health insurance, retirement or self employment taxes

The automotive industry is recession proof. People need their cars to get to work. The current economic conditions have caused the average car owner to hold on to their car for 10.8 years. Automobile owners are also moving away from new car dealerships to repair their vehicles and onto franchise brands and independent auto repair facilities. A well organized auto repair business averages a 25% profit. We sell automotive businesses, automotive franchises and automotive real estate in Georgia. We know our market! There is NO recession-proof business! There are some that might have less of an impact of the recession. There are others that actually do well at the top and the bottom of the economic cycle, but ALL businesses react to such economic ups and downs, one way or another. It is up to the smart operator to determine how best to deal with those cycles, and manage sales and expenses in the most advantageous way, in order to withstand those economic gyrations.

If you are thinking of Pepperidge as being resilient to the recession, then you have not paid attention to the prices at the gas pumps, if absolutely nothing else!
