Is a body shop or collision center a decent investment?

I see several with very good "stated" net incomes, but is this a good industry to get involved in?

I can be, but I would stay away from those that do a lot of custom work; they don't do as well as those that deal with straight collission repair.

I have sold about eight of them in the last five years. I have also turned another three away, because they were poor performers. There are a lot of issues, but they are well worth looking into. But as with all business purchases, know what you are getting into, and do your research on the deal, carefully.
