I want to open a brewery. Should I find a location or financing first?

I have a few friends that are interested in helping finance, but it's not enough to get the whole business running. What's the first step to starting a business like this?

Start with a Business Plan. ALWAYS. That will hopefully tell you what you will ultimately need, in terms of full financing. It will also tell the Lenders/Investors how you plan to pay them back. A location could be expensive, and no one will speak to you about serious site issues until they know you have the fundamental means of paying for it.
